Dr. Fortemps has worked with children both in the public schools and the private sector over the past twenty years. She has been employed as a school psychologist at the elementary level for the last 21 years with the Cherry Creek School District, and prior to that, one year in the Englewood School District. She conducts cognitive and social-emotional/behavioral evaluations as part of the special education team, and provides individual, small group and whole classroom interventions to support the behavioral needs of students in the elementary school setting. In a private setting, she has worked with children, adolescents, and families experiencing a variety of social-emotional and/or behavioral challenges and provided psycho-educational assessments and counseling as part of C&M Counseling. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado, and is licensed as a school psychologist through the Colorado Department of Education.
Dr. Fortemps received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hendrix College in 1993, her Masters degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Denver in 1996 and her doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Denver in 2003.
